Hattstatt

Hattstatt is a small wine-growing village in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, located along the Alsace Wine Route between Colmar and Rouffach. Nestled at the foot of the Vosges mountains, it is surrounded by vine-covered hillsides typical of the region, producing well-known Alsatian wines such as Riesling and Gewurztraminer. The village retains a rural character, with traditional houses and a peaceful setting well suited to walks through the vineyards and to nearby villages such as Gueberschwihr and Pfaffenheim, both noted for their architectural heritage. Hattstatt's location provides easy access to Colmar, a historic town famed for its medieval old town and canals, as well as to numerous wine cellars open for tastings along the Wine Route. The surrounding area offers good opportunities for outdoor activities, including hiking and cycling, amid the rolling vineyard landscapes characteristic of the Vosges foothills. The semi-continental climate, with warm, dry summers, makes it a pleasant base for exploring the Alsatian countryside and its rural heritage.
