Seignosse

Seignosse is a coastal town in the Landes department of south-west France, within the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, known for its ocean beaches and unspoilt natural surroundings of maritime pines and freshwater lakes. The resort, which stretches as far as the seaside district of Le Penon, is particularly popular with surfers thanks to well-known breaks such as La Gravière, Les Bourdaines and Les Estagnots, which regularly host international surfing competitions. The coastline alternates between supervised beaches and wilder stretches backed by wooded dunes, characteristic of the Landes shoreline. Inland, the pine forest and lakes, including the Étang Blanc, offer opportunities for walking, fishing or freshwater swimming. The town is also home to a well-regarded golf course, the Golf de Seignosse, which draws players throughout the year. Close to Hossegor and Capbreton, Seignosse offers a lively mix of water sports, nature and regional cuisine, with restaurants showcasing local Landes produce. Its mild oceanic climate, along with numerous campsites and holiday rentals, makes it a favoured destination for summer breaks with family or friends.
