Polanica Zdroj

Polanica-Zdrój is a small spa town in south-western Poland, in the Lower Silesia region, nestled in the Kłodzko Valley close to the Czech border. It is known for its mineral springs, most notably the Wielka Pieniawa spring, whose water is used both for spa treatments and bottling. The town is centred around a wooded spa park ideal for gentle walks, surrounded by guesthouses and treatment facilities that welcome those seeking rest and clean mountain air. The architecture blends older villas with more modern tourist infrastructure. Polanica-Zdrój also serves as a convenient base for exploring the Table Mountains (Góry Stołowe), particularly the Szczeliniec Wielki massif, as well as the neighbouring spa towns of Duszniki-Zdrój and Kudowa-Zdrój, which share a similar therapeutic tradition. The surrounding mountainous, forested landscape is well suited to hiking, cross-country skiing in winter, and year-round relaxation breaks. The climate is cool and humid, typical of the Sudeten foothills, which has supported the town's healing reputation since the 19th century.
