Praloup 1600

Praloup 1600 is one of the altitude levels within the Pra-Loup resort, located in the Ubaye valley, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department. Sitting at around 1600 metres, this part of the resort provides direct access to the ski slopes shared with La Foux d'Allos, an area known for reliable snow cover thanks to its aspect and elevation. In winter, the sector attracts families and active skiers alike, with runs suited to all levels, from beginners to advanced skiers, alongside dedicated areas for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In summer, the resort serves as a popular base for hiking and mountain biking, with access to trails within the Mercantour National Park and the distinctive scenery of the upper Ubaye valley. The architecture of Pra-Loup 1600, built mainly during the 1960s and 1970s, combines chalets and residential buildings within a well-preserved mountain setting. The nearby town of Barcelonnette, historically notable for its Mexican-influenced architecture linked to nineteenth-century emigration, adds further interest for visitors staying in the area throughout the year.
