Megeve

Megève is a mountain village in Haute-Savoie, at the foot of the Mont Blanc massif, in the 74120 postcode area. Known for its traditional Savoyard architecture, with timber chalets and slate roofs, the resort was developed in the 1920s under the influence of the Rothschild family. The ski area, served by the Rochebrune and Mont d'Arbois cable cars among others, draws winter sports enthusiasts, while the summer season offers plenty of opportunities for hiking and electric mountain biking along the surrounding trails. One popular route leads to the Belle au Bois waterfall, reachable by e-bike, set within an unspoilt landscape of forests and streams. The village centre, with its Saint-Jean-Baptiste church and pedestrian lanes, is home to shops, restaurants and boutiques. Local cuisine highlights Savoyard specialities such as tartiflette and reblochon cheese. Megève also boasts a range of sporting facilities, including an ice rink and a golf course, making it an active year-round destination.
