Le Corbier

Le Corbier, a Savoyard resort in the Maurienne valley, forms part of the Sybelles ski area, one of the largest in France. Its slopes offer remarkable views over the valley, notably the panoramic blue run and the chairlift ride up to Mont Corbier, a popular viewpoint on clear days. The ski area also allows skiers to reach the neighbouring resorts of Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves and La Toussuire, as well as to explore Le Corbier's well-known covered walkways, distinctive pedestrian passages linking the resort's various residential levels. Beyond skiing, the resort offers horse riding, mountain hikes, snowmobile outings and a swimming pool set against a mountain backdrop. In winter, a torchlit descent regularly takes place across the Sybelles area. For dining, the restaurant La Fontaine de l'Ours is well regarded for its Savoyard specialities served in a pleasant setting, while Les Roches Blanches adds to the local dining options. A joint activity programme is run between Le Corbier and La Toussuire throughout the winter season. With its architecture typical of the 1960s and 70s, the resort remains a convenient base for exploring the extensive surrounding ski area.
