La Toussuire

La Toussuire is a family-friendly ski resort in Savoie, in the Grandes Rousses massif, perched above the Maurienne valley at around 1,800 metres altitude. It forms part of the Les Sybelles ski area, one of the largest in France, offering direct access to the slopes right from the heart of the resort. One of the appreciated features of La Toussuire is precisely this close proximity between accommodation, ski runs and dining options: several establishments allow you to have lunch right at the foot of the slopes without taking your skis off, in the convivial atmosphere typical of Savoyard resorts. For a traditional meal, the restaurant Chez Anisette is a well-regarded spot for Savoyard fondue, a regional speciality best enjoyed after a day on the snowy slopes. The mid-mountain climate generally ensures reliable snow cover throughout the winter season, making it well suited to alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and other outdoor mountain pursuits. In summer, the resort also serves as a starting point for hiking amid the unspoilt natural surroundings characteristic of the Savoy Alps.
