La Rosiere

La Rosière is a mid-mountain resort located in the Tarentaise valley, Savoie, at around 1,850 metres altitude, along the road leading to the Petit-Saint-Bernard pass towards Italy. Its south-facing slopes and ski area, linked to La Thuile through the San Bernardo international ski area, make it a popular destination in both winter and summer. The village, made up of several hamlets built in traditional Savoyard style, retains an authentic character with its wooden chalets and surrounding alpine pastures. Beyond alpine skiing, the resort offers a range of outdoor activities, including snowshoeing through the fir forests, a peaceful way to explore the surrounding woodland and snow-covered scenery. In summer, hiking trails and mountain biking routes take over, offering views towards the Mont Blanc massif and the Vanoise glaciers. The nearby Italian border also allows for easy day trips into the Aosta Valley. La Rosière remains a human-scale resort, well suited to family activities and close contact with the surrounding natural landscape.
