Hauteluce

Hauteluce is a mountain village in the Beaufortain area of Savoie, its territory stretching as far as the Les Saisies ski resort. Traditional wood-and-stone architecture, high pastures and typical chalets define this corner of the valley, well known for its Beaufort cheese production. Hiking enthusiasts will find several high-altitude lakes nearby accessible on foot, including the Lac d'Amour and the Lac des Fées, both appreciated for their still waters and unspoilt natural surroundings at the heart of the massif. In winter, the ski area links Hauteluce to the Espace Diamant, giving access to an extensive network of pistes connecting several resorts across the Beaufortain and Val d'Arly regions. In summer, the village serves as a starting point for numerous walking and mountain-biking trails, winding through pastures, forests and surrounding peaks. The mountain climate, with snowy winters and cool summers, supports these outdoor activities year-round. Hauteluce retains an authentic character, away from the bustle of larger resorts, with local life centred around mountain farming and family-oriented tourism.
