Meribel les Allues

Les Allues is a mountain village in Savoie, at around 1,100 metres above sea level, at the heart of the Méribel valley and the Three Valleys ski area, one of the largest linked ski domains in the world alongside Courchevel and Val Thorens. Unlike the more modern Méribel-Mottaret, the hamlet of Les Allues has retained traditional Savoyard architecture, with wood and stone chalets, and is connected to the slopes by cable car. Méribel resort, of which Les Allues is one of the historic villages, was founded in the late 1930s and hosted some events during the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. Surrounded by the Vanoise massif and close to the national park of the same name, the area offers an ideal setting for winter activities such as alpine and cross-country skiing, as well as summer pursuits including hiking, mountain biking and golf. The alpine climate, with snowy winters and mild summers, makes it a year-round destination for lovers of nature and mountain sports, retaining an authentic charm compared with the valley's more built-up resorts.
