Flaine Forum

Flaine Forum refers to the central district of the Flaine resort, located in Haute-Savoie within the Giffre massif. Built in the 1960s to plans by architect Marcel Breuer, the resort is notable for its brutalist concrete architecture, set into the mountainside at an altitude of around 1,600 metres. Entirely pedestrianised, it allows direct, car-free access to the slopes, a feature particularly valued by families. The Forum area brings together shops, restaurants, ski schools and facilities such as an ice rink and swimming pool, forming the resort's main hub. Flaine is part of the Grand Massif ski area, one of the largest in Haute-Savoie, linked to the resorts of Samoëns, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, offering a wide range of slopes suited to all abilities. The resort is also known for its outdoor contemporary art, including a sculpture by Pablo Picasso, adding a cultural dimension to the mountain setting. In summer, Flaine serves as a starting point for hiking and mountain biking amid unspoilt natural surroundings.
