Basel

Basel, situated at the tripoint border of Switzerland, France and Germany, is the country's third-largest city and a significant cultural and economic hub. Bisected by the Rhine, it offers long riverside walks, particularly towards the historic Kleinbasel district. The old town, home to a cathedral blending Gothic and Romanesque styles overlooking the river, along with its ornately decorated town hall on Marktplatz, forms the heart of the tourist area. Basel is also renowned for its dense museum scene, among the richest in Europe, including the Kunstmuseum for fine arts and the nearby Fondation Beyeler.
