Roma - Historical City Center

Rome's historic centre brings together the Italian capital's main highlights. The Colosseum and the Roman Forum, with reduced entry fees for under-25s, are easily reached on foot from the Pantheon, as are the many basilicas scattered across the city, where modest dress is required. The Trevi Fountain and its surrounding streets are worth a stop, ideally with an Italian ice cream in hand. The Trastevere district, with its lively lanes and evening terraces, is perfect for a leisurely stroll, while Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi offers a sweeping view over the city, away from the busier spots. Castel Sant'Angelo, with its striking 360-degree panorama, and the gardens of Villa Borghese round off the experience. On the food front, Pizzeria Tavola Calda Felice e Silvana stands out for its excellent value, while Tonnarello is popular for its outstanding pasta dishes, both fine examples of traditional Roman cuisine.
