Serre Chevalier 1200

Serre Chevalier 1200 refers to the village of Chantemerle, one of the resorts making up the Serre Chevalier valley in the Hautes-Alpes region, just a few kilometres from Briançon. The village offers direct access to the slopes via a gondola linking into the ski area, which spans over 250 km of pistes shared with the neighbouring villages of Villeneuve and Le Monêtier-les-Bains. Set against the Cerces mountain range and close to the Écrins National Park, the surroundings are well suited to alpine and cross-country skiing in winter, as well as hiking and mountain biking in summer. Nearby, the town of Briançon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its Vauban fortifications, makes for an interesting cultural outing. Le Monêtier-les-Bains, a short drive away, is known for its thermal baths, popular for relaxing after a day on the slopes or the trails. Chantemerle retains an authentic mountain village character, with a lively centre offering shops, restaurants and essential amenities for an active yet restful stay in the Southern French Alps.
