Colmar

Colmar, in Alsace, is known for its historic centre and the Petite Venise district, where a boat trip along the Lauch reveals half-timbered houses and flower-lined canals. The town has several museums, including the Hansi museum dedicated to the Alsatian illustrator and a toy museum popular with families. The surrounding area is well worth exploring, with quieter wine villages, the Alsace wine route offering cellar visits and tastings, and hiking trails in the Vosges mountains.
