Tignes les Boisses

Tignes les Boisses is a hamlet within the village of Tignes, in the Haute-Tarentaise area of Savoie, within the Vanoise massif. Situated lower down than the main hubs of the resort (Le Lac, Val Claret), this hamlet retains a more traditional character, with typical mountain chalets. It lies close to the Tignes lake and dam, a hydroelectric structure that shapes the valley's landscape. The mountain surroundings make it well suited to hiking, a key activity in the area during the summer season, with numerous waymarked trails leading to nearby alpine pastures, ridgelines and the edges of the Vanoise massif and its neighbouring national park. In winter, Les Boisses benefits from its proximity to the Espace Killy ski area, shared between Tignes and Val d'Isère, one of the largest linked ski areas in the French Alps. This hamlet therefore offers a quieter base from which to explore the Tarentaise valley, combining hiking opportunities in summer with easy access to the slopes in winter.
