Port Grimaud

Port Grimaud, a lakeside town built in the 1960s in a Venetian-inspired style, is best explored on foot, wandering along canals lined with colourful houses and small bridges, or by boat, gliding past homes right at the water's edge. This village in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez makes an excellent base for exploring the peninsula: Saint-Tropez, with its lively harbour, is easily reached by water shuttle or by road, while Sainte-Maxime, a quieter seaside resort, is also well worth a visit. Nearby, the hilltop village of Grimaud, with its narrow streets and castle remains, rounds off the local sightseeing nicely. The surrounding area gives direct access to numerous beaches along the Var coastline, prized for their clear waters. For those keen on wider excursions, the Route des Crêtes towards Marseille and the Gorges du Verdon, though further afield, make for spectacular day trips through dramatic scenery. Between boat rides, architectural charm and coastal exploration, Port Grimaud offers a peaceful residential setting with easy access to the French Riviera's main attractions.
