Armacao de Pera

Armação de Pêra is a seaside resort on the Algarve coast, part of the Silves municipality, known for its long sandy beach lined with a lively promenade. The old village core retains its fishing-port character, with colourful boats and restaurants serving fresh fish and seafood. Nearby, the rock formations of Algar Seco feature caves and clefts accessible on foot, popular for taking in the region's rugged coastline. Boat trips allow visitors to sail along the limestone cliffs and discover secluded coves, as well as the renowned Ponta da Piedade, a striking cluster of rock formations and sea caves located further west near Lagos, often included in coastal tours departing from Armação de Pêra. The Mediterranean climate, warm and sunny for much of the year, makes the area well suited to water-based activities such as diving, kayaking and boat excursions. The town serves as a convenient base for exploring the western Algarve, with its mix of beaches, cliffs and genuine fishing villages.
