Porches

Porches is a small village in the Algarve, located in the municipality of Lagoa, between Lagoa and Armação de Pêra. This stretch of the Portuguese coastline is known for its ochre limestone cliffs plunging into turquoise waters, forming coves and beaches typical of the region, such as Praia Nova and Senhora da Rocha, reachable on foot or by car from the village centre. These beaches are particularly well suited to water sports, notably kayaking, which allows visitors to explore sea caves and rock formations shaped by erosion along the coast. The countryside around Porches retains a rural character, with traditional whitewashed houses and farmland, contrasting with the busier resort towns nearby. The Algarve's Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild winters, makes outdoor activities possible for much of the year.
