Benissa

Benissa is a town on the Costa Blanca, in the province of Alicante, combining a historic centre perched on a hill with a wide coastal stretch reaching down to the Mediterranean Sea. The old town, dominated by the imposing Purísima Concepción church, contrasts with the coastal area of Les Bassetes and Fustera, which is more residential and geared towards seaside tourism. The beaches and coves along this stretch of coastline, often flanked by cliffs and calm waters, are among the destination's main draws, ideal for swimming and diving. Benissa's location also makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider region: Calpe, just a short drive away, is known for its landmark rock formation, the Peñón de Ifach, a striking outcrop visible from afar that overlooks the bay. Benidorm, with its high-rise skyline and lively atmosphere, is also nearby and popular for its urban beaches and entertainment options.
