Arc 1800

Arc 1800 is one of the resorts within the Paradiski ski area, linked to Les Arcs and La Plagne, giving direct access to numerous pistes as well as to well-known landmarks such as the Aiguille Rouge, valued for its panoramic views over the surrounding glaciers and peaks. The Dérochoire piste, on the La Plagne side, appeals to keen skiers looking for more challenging runs. The smaller hamlet of Vallandry offers skiing through wooded, quieter terrain, with a modern gondola leading up to a scenic viewpoint near a museum. After a day on the slopes, the lively atmosphere of La Folie Douce and slopeside igloo bars set the tone for the afternoon, often best enjoyed during happy hour. The resort also offers a range of other activities, including a zip line, tobogganing, bowling, husky sledding, a swimming pool and a night skiing piste. The village of Arc 1950, with its Savoyard-style architecture, is worth a stroll, as is the centre of Arc 1800 at sunset. On the food side, L'Isberg restaurant is known for its generous Savoyard dishes - raclette, fondue, tartiflette - served in a friendly setting, while the Fromagerie de la Coopérative de Haute Tarentaise is a good spot to sample local cheeses.
