Roz-sur-Couesnon

Roz-sur-Couesnon is a village in the north of Ille-et-Vilaine, ideally located on the edge of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, with the silhouette of the abbey visible from the surrounding polders. This location makes it a well-placed base for exploring the region's major sites: Mont-Saint-Michel itself, a short drive away, as well as Saint-Malo with its ramparts and the Alligator Bay aquarium, and Dinard with its Clair de Lune promenade. Heritage enthusiasts can also reach the medieval town of Dinan or Mont-Dol, a rocky outcrop offering panoramic views over the bay. For nature and local produce, Cancale with its oyster beds and beaches (Verger, Saussaye) is easily accessible, as are Pointe du Groin and Cap Fréhel for coastal walks. Roz-sur-Couesnon itself is characterised by its polder landscapes, salt-marsh sheep grazing the meadows, and a peaceful setting ideal for walks between land and sea, all within easy reach of the essential sights of the Saint-Malo area and the bay.
