Auberville

Auberville is a small village in Calvados, Normandy, tucked along the Côte Fleurie between Villers-sur-Mer and Houlgate. The area is best known for the Vaches Noires cliffs, a striking natural site shaped by erosion into a rugged, undulating landscape, popular for coastal walks and fossil hunting. A few kilometres away, Houlgate boasts a fine sandy beach, a lively seafront and a local market, while Cabourg, a little further on, is known for its Marcel Proust promenade and casino; the Villa du Temps Retrouvé museum traces the town's seaside history. Heading east, Dives-sur-Mer and its marina, Port Guillaume, make for a pleasant spot, particularly at sunset, with historic covered market halls and shops nearby. The region also invites visitors to explore Normandy's cider-making heritage, with calvados producers open for tours. Further along the coast, Honfleur rounds off this varied stretch of beaches, harbours and natural scenery, making Auberville a convenient base for discovering the whole of the Côte Fleurie.
