Audierne

Audierne is a town in the south of Finistère, Brittany, located at the mouth of the River Goyen, facing the Atlantic Ocean. This fishing port, historically known for its langoustine catches, retains a visible maritime activity around its quay and fish auction house. The town serves as a popular base for exploring the Pointe du Raz, the Pointe du Van and the Baie des Trépassés, as well as the Cap Sizun nature reserve, noted for its seabird colonies. Boat trips also run from the harbour to the Île de Sein. Sainte-Évette beach, just a short walk from the centre, offers a sheltered spot ideal for swimming and watersports. The GR34 coastal footpath runs through the town, allowing walkers to follow the shoreline past cliffs and coves. The neighbouring villages of Esquibien and Poulgoazec complete this typical maritime setting of the Cap Sizun peninsula.
