St-Jean-de-Monts

Saint-Jean-de-Monts is a seaside resort on the Vendée coast in the Pays de la Loire region, known for its long sandy beach stretching several kilometres, bordered by the Remblai, a lively seafront promenade during the summer season. The town backs onto a maritime pine forest that shelters the coastline and offers shaded paths popular for walking and mountain biking. An extensive network of cycle paths links the resort to neighbouring villages and the Marais Breton, a wetland landscape typical of this part of Vendée. Saint-Jean-de-Monts is a classic family holiday destination, with a covered market, seafront shops and water-based activities such as sailing, surfing and sand yachting, favoured by steady Atlantic winds. The nearby Aqualand water park adds to the summer leisure offer. The mild, sunny oceanic climate, pleasant for much of the year, makes it a popular choice for summer breaks as well as quieter out-of-season stays. The Île d'Yeu can be reached by boat from the nearby port of Fromentine.
