Tregastel

Tregastel, on the Pink Granite Coast in the Côtes-d'Armor department, is known for its striking rock formations shaped by erosion, particularly visible around the Île Renote and along the shoreline. The town has fine sandy beaches such as Grève Blanche and Grève Rose, popular for swimming and water sports. A marine aquarium, built into a cluster of granite boulders, showcases local marine life and is one of the site's distinctive features. The coastal footpath, known locally as the sentier des douaniers, runs along the shore and leads on foot to the Ploumanac'h lighthouse, one of the region's landmark sights, offering views over the pink rocks and the sea. This coastal route crosses varied landscapes of heathland, coves and unusually shaped granite outcrops, drawing both hikers and families out for a walk. The area's temperate oceanic climate makes it suitable for visits throughout the year, with higher numbers of visitors in summer. Tregastel makes a good base for exploring the Pink Granite Coast, combining nature, geological heritage and outdoor activities in a well-preserved part of northern Brittany.
