Agde

Agde, in the Hérault department, is a town founded by the Greeks and known for its distinctive black volcanic stone architecture, best seen around the fortified Cathédrale Saint-Étienne overlooking the river. The town lies between the Hérault river and the Mediterranean, making it well suited to water-based activities: kayaking, whether at sea or along the river, offers a different perspective on the local scenery and heritage. Agde's harbour is lively and welcoming, a pleasant spot for a stroll or to watch the boats come and go.
