Beausoleil

Beausoleil is a town in the Alpes-Maritimes that sits directly against the Monaco border, overlooking the principality from its hillside position. This location means visitors can walk straight into Monaco's main sights, including the Prince's Palace, Casino Square with its famous casino, and the Fontvieille district. The Japanese Garden, laid out along the seafront, provides a peaceful, green spot for a stroll. The Oceanographic Museum, built into the rock face, is well worth a visit for its marine collections, considered excellent value for the entrance fee. Beausoleil's own streets, lined with Belle Époque buildings, are pleasant to wander through, offering open views over Monaco's bay and the Mediterranean beyond. The town's position also makes it a convenient base for day trips to Menton, Nice or the nearby Italian border, allowing visitors to combine heritage sites, seaside scenery and exploration of the French-Italian Riviera within a single day. The mild Mediterranean climate, pleasant for much of the year, further encourages these urban and coastal walks.
