Tizzano

Tizzano is a small fishing village on the southern coast of Corsica, within the Sartène area of Corse-du-Sud. Set around a sheltered cove and overlooked by a Genoese tower, it retains an authentic, unhurried atmosphere well away from the busier tourist spots. The village is built around a small harbour where a handful of fishing boats still moor, and its sandy beach offers calm, clear waters ideal for swimming. The surrounding maquis, typical of Corsica's far south, is well suited to walking and exploring a rugged landscape of rocky outcrops and maritime pines. Tizzano also makes a good base for exploring the wider region: Bonifacio, with its citadel perched on limestone cliffs, lies around twenty kilometres away, while the Aiguilles de Bavella, striking rock formations set deep in the Corsican mountains, provide a dramatic contrast to the coastline. This combination allows visitors to enjoy relaxed seaside days alongside excursions to two of the island's most iconic landmarks.
