Erdeven

Erdeven is a coastal town in the Morbihan department of Brittany, bordering the Atlantic Ocean and lying close to Carnac and the Quiberon peninsula. Its long, fine sandy beaches, including Kerhillio and Kerminihy, stretch along a dune-lined coastline well suited to swimming, surfing and walking. The coastal footpath (GR34) follows this unspoilt shoreline, leading on foot or by bike to the renowned Côte Sauvage on the Quiberon peninsula, known for its wind-battered cliffs and dramatic scenery, particularly during spring tides. Further inland, the town holds notable megalithic heritage, with the Kerzerho alignments forming one of the region's most significant groups of standing stones, evidence of long-standing human presence in the area. The mild oceanic climate supports outdoor activities throughout the year, while the nearby Gulf of Morbihan and the Guérande salt marshes offer further opportunities for excursions for those interested in nature and Breton heritage.
