Talmont-St-Hilaire

Talmont-Saint-Hilaire is a coastal town in the Vendée region, just next to Les Sables-d'Olonne, known for its varied natural setting of beaches, marshland and pine forest. The town retains the ruins of a medieval castle whose origins are linked to the Plantagenet family, making it a notable historical site for visitors. The commune stretches down to the coast, where the Port de Bourgenay marina offers shops, restaurants and a golf course, alongside the Plage du Veillon, known for its cliffs and the estuary of the Payré river, a protected natural area popular for walks.
