La Plagne 1800

La Plagne 1800, also known as Plagne Village, is one of the historic hamlets within the Savoie ski resort of La Plagne, set in the Vanoise massif at around 1,800 metres above sea level. This part of the resort retains a mountain village atmosphere, with more traditional-style buildings than some of the newer high-altitude developments nearby. It makes a good base for walking, whether on summer alpine trails offering views towards Mont Blanc or on winter snowshoe routes. The unspoilt natural surroundings also lend themselves to relaxation, with some of the resort's wellness facilities drawing on this close connection to nature. In winter, La Plagne 1800 provides access to the extensive Paradiski ski area, linked to Les Arcs by the Vanoise Express cable car, one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The resort offers slopes suited to all levels, along with off-piste activities such as ice skating and sledging. Compared with some of the livelier hubs within La Plagne, this quieter sector is particularly popular with families seeking a mountain-focused, outdoor holiday.
