St-Cyr-sur-Mer la Madrague

La Madrague is the small fishing harbour of St-Cyr-sur-Mer, in the Var, just a short walk from Les Lecques beach and close to Cassis and its famous calanques. The coastline is particularly well suited to hiking, with coastal paths running along the rocks and offering sea views, as well as to kayaking, paddleboarding and jet-skiing around the nearby coves. The Port d'Alon cove, reachable on foot or by boat, stands out for its sandy dune, a natural spot popular for swimming. The renowned Route des Crêtes, between Cassis and La Ciotat, provides spectacular views over the Mediterranean. The Porquerolles islands, a little further away, add further options for boat trips. Right on the harbour of La Madrague, the restaurant La Barque de Sophie serves good food in a warm setting, well placed to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the small port. Altogether, this makes for a pleasant base from which to explore the beaches, the calanques and the Var hinterland.
