Meribel

Méribel, a Savoyard resort in the Vanoise massif, lies at the heart of the Three Valleys, one of the largest linked ski areas in the world. Established in the late 1930s in a traditional style favouring timber and stone chalets, the resort hosted alpine skiing and ice hockey events during the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. In winter, the ski area connects with Courchevel and Val Thorens, offering runs suited to every level. In summer, the surrounding mountains are well suited to hiking and mountain biking, along with family-friendly outdoor activities. Among these, the Black Forest luge run stands out: reserved for adults, it winds through open mid-mountain scenery with striking views over the surrounding peaks. Spread across hamlets sitting between 1,450 and 1,600 metres in altitude, including Méribel village and Méribel-Mottaret, the resort generally benefits from reliable snow cover during the season. Throughout the year, the area retains an authentic mountain atmosphere, shaped by its chalets and high-altitude trails, drawing visitors in both winter and summer.
