St-Aygulf

Saint-Aygulf is a coastal district of Fréjus, in the Var department, stretching along the Mediterranean between the mouth of the Argens river and the Estérel massif. Its sandy beach, lively market and small shopping streets form the heart of the village. Nearby, Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël host both daytime and night markets, while Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez complete a tour of this stretch of coast. The Estérel massif is well suited to jet-ski outings, and the Villepey ponds along with the Malpasset dam make for pleasant nature walks just a few kilometres away. Canoeing and kayaking can be enjoyed on the Argens, notably from a base in Fréjus, while Lake Saint-Cassien adds further water-based activities further inland. Families will find the Roquebrune water sports centre, Aqualand, a tree-top adventure park and the Fréjus Luna Park all within easy reach. Those after a thrill can try parasailing or go-karting locally. In the evening, the bar-restaurant Le Caractère is well regarded for its friendly atmosphere and original drinks, while First Bike offers bicycle hire for exploring the surrounding area. The villages of Bormes-les-Mimosas, Port Grimaud and Gassin are also within an hour's drive.
