Cavalaire-sur-Mer

Cavalaire-sur-Mer, a seaside resort in the Var department within the Bay of Saint-Tropez, is best known for its beaches. The town-centre beach, right along the seafront, is a lovely spot in the early evening for a swim and to watch the sunset, with a popular crêperie nearby offering a direct view of the sand. A little further along, Bonporteau beach provides a quieter, more unspoilt setting, best enjoyed early in the morning. Local markets, paddleboarding and towed buoy rides round out the activities available on site. Cavalaire also makes an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area: La Croix-Valmer, Le Lavandou, Le Rayol-Canadel with its Mediterranean garden, and charming villages such as Ramatuelle and Grimaud, with the famous Port Grimaud just twenty minutes away. Saint-Tropez is around thirty minutes by car, while Cannes, Nice and Monaco are all feasible for a day trip. Nature lovers will enjoy the coastal footpath as well as boat crossings to the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros, offering a glimpse into the region's protected Mediterranean landscapes.
