Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes, in the Isère department, is a high-altitude ski resort known for its glacier-linked ski area reaching between 3,200 and 3,600 metres, accessible via the Jandri Express cable car. In winter, the slopes cover an extensive area, with quieter sections at the far end of the domain best enjoyed early in the morning before the crowds arrive; the run linking the Pano Bar, Umbrella Bar and Avalanche sector is particularly popular, as is the traditional torchlight descent accompanied by fireworks. In summer, the resort offers summer tobogganing, mountain biking, paragliding and an extensive network of hiking trails, with cable cars providing easy access to panoramic viewpoints across the Alps. A local guides' bureau organises hikes and guided excursions. Highlights include the ice cave carved into the glacier and the village of Vénosc below, known for its traditional character and local heritage. Nature lovers also enjoy snowshoeing outings, the artificial lake, and hikes to the Muzelle refuge, Lac de Lauvitel or Les Perrons.
