Puy St-Vincent

Puy-Saint-Vincent is a mid- to high-altitude mountain resort in the Hautes-Alpes region, set on the slopes of the Écrins massif at the heart of the Vallouise valley. The ski area, spanning altitudes of 1,400 to 2,700 metres, offers a wide range of pistes suited to all levels in winter, with a south-facing aspect valued for its sunshine. The resort's immediate proximity to the Écrins National Park is one of its main draws, with hiking, mountaineering and nature outings particularly well developed once the snow melts. Mountain bivouacking is especially popular here, allowing visitors to spend a night at altitude facing the surrounding peaks, in a peaceful, unspoilt setting ideal for stargazing. The traditional villages of the valley, such as Vallouise and Pelvoux, add to the appeal with their characteristic alpine architecture. In summer, mountain biking, via ferrata and paragliding complement the outdoor offering, while winter remains dominated by alpine skiing and snowshoeing.
