Les Orres 1800

Les Orres 1800 is the higher-altitude resort of the Les Orres ski area in the Hautes-Alpes, overlooking Lake Serre-Ponçon. In winter, skiing and sledging take centre stage, complemented by more unusual activities such as snakegliss, husky dog sledding rides, or the Orient Express-style mechanical luge, which let visitors shoot down the mountain with no prior experience needed. The summer luge run, which can also be enjoyed outside the summer season, is one of the resort's popular attractions. For those after a thrill, the speedline zip wire offers sweeping views over the ski area, while the alpine spa, complete with pool and sauna, provides a place to unwind after a day on the slopes. The resort also connects to the lower Les Orres 1650 sector, forming one continuous ski area together with 1800. Away from the pistes, the surrounding heights are well suited to walking trails with open views over the neighbouring peaks and the Ubaye valley. Thanks to the altitude and clear mountain air of the Hautes-Alpes, night skies here are particularly clear, making stargazing a simple yet memorable part of any stay.
