Aisy sous thil

Aisy-sous-Thil is a small rural village in the Côte-d'Or department of Burgundy, set in the Armançon valley on the edge of the Morvan regional park. The village takes its name from its proximity to the ruined medieval castle of Thil, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the surrounding countryside. The area is characterised by gently rolling hills, woodland and waterways, typical of this part of Burgundy. It lies just a few kilometres from Saulieu, known for its gastronomic heritage, and from Montbard, a larger town served by the TGV and situated along the Burgundy Canal. From here, it's easy to reach the UNESCO-listed Fontenay Abbey or the source of the River Seine, both located within a short drive.
