Pre en pail st samson

Pré-en-Pail-Saint-Samson is a village in the Mayenne department, created in 2016 through the merger of Pré-en-Pail and Saint-Samson, in the Pays de la Loire region. It lies within the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park, close to the Multonne forest, amid the typical bocage countryside of hedgerows, meadows and gently rolling hills. Long serving as a staging post on the route between Paris and Rennes, the village benefits from direct access via the A81 motorway, making it a convenient stopover for travellers heading to Brittany or nearby Normandy. The village centre retains a rural character, with a weekly market and local shops. The surrounding countryside is well suited to walking and exploring the natural heritage of the Normandie-Maine Park, with its forests, ponds and characterful small villages. Its proximity to Alençon and the Alpes Mancelles area also allows for day trips further afield. The climate is temperate oceanic, with mild summers and fairly damp winters, favourable to outdoor activities for much of the year. It makes for a peaceful countryside base, well away from urban bustle.
