Cussy la colonne

Cussy-la-Colonne is a small village in the Côte-d'Or department of Burgundy, just a few kilometres from Beaune, the historic capital of Burgundy wines. The village takes its name from a Roman column, a Gallo-Roman relic dating from approximately the 3rd century, which remains the most notable heritage feature in the area. The surrounding landscape is typical of the Côte de Beaune, combining renowned vineyards with wooded hillsides. Its proximity to Beaune provides easy access to the famous Hospices de Beaune, numerous wine cellars and estates open for tastings, as well as local markets. The region is also well suited to walking through the vineyards, with trails connecting neighbouring wine villages such as Meloisey and Nolay. The temperate continental climate, with warm, dry summers, makes outdoor activities enjoyable for much of the year. Overall, Cussy-la-Colonne offers a peaceful, rural setting, well positioned as a base for exploring Burgundy's wine routes and Beaune's architectural heritage, while retaining an unspoilt village atmosphere.
