Cassuejouls

Cassuejouls is a small village in the Aveyron department, in the Occitanie region of southern France, set on the Aubrac plateau near Laguiole. This rural area is characterised by rolling pastureland, traditional stone shepherds' huts known as burons, and the wide green landscapes typical of the Aubrac, home to the local cattle breed of the same name. The climate is mountainous, with mild summers and cold winters, making the area well suited to outdoor pursuits such as walking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing in the colder months. The Aubrac plateau also lies close to sections of the Way of St James pilgrimage route, particularly around Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac, just a short distance away. The region is equally known for its hearty local cuisine, including specialities such as aligot, truffade, and Laguiole cheese.
