Isola 2000

Isola 2000 is a ski resort in the Mercantour massif, in the hinterland of Nice, roughly 90 kilometres from the city. Built at altitude, around 2000 metres, it enjoys the generous sunshine typical of the Southern Alps and offers a ski area rising to nearly 2600 metres, with open views over the surrounding peaks. Access to the slopes includes egg-shaped chairlifts, enclosed and heated, allowing skiers to reach the summit while sheltered from the cold. After a day on the pistes, it's common to unwind in an outdoor jacuzzi, often available at the resort's residences, before tucking into a raclette, a hearty dish much enjoyed at the end of a day in the mountains. Beyond alpine skiing, the resort also offers motorised snow activities, such as snowmobile excursions, providing another way to explore the Mercantour landscape. Close to the Italian border, Isola 2000 combines skiing, relaxation and the discovery of an unspoilt mountain environment typical of the Alpes-Maritimes.
