Vaudemont

Vaudemont is a small village in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, located in the Saintois area, at the heart of rural Lorraine. It is best known for its hill, the Signal de Vaudemont, a natural and historic site that overlooks the surrounding countryside and offers sweeping views across the rolling hills and farmland of the Saintois region. The hill bears the remains of a former medieval castle, the ancestral seat of the Counts of Vaudemont, a noble family that played a role in Lorraine's history. A commemorative monument on the site recalls the Battle of Nancy in 1477, a significant episode in the region's past.
