Argences en aubrac

Argences-en-Aubrac is a merged commune in the Aveyron department (postcode 12210), formed in 2016 from several villages on the Aubrac plateau, including Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac. This rural area lies in a mid-mountain region characterised by wide-open pastures, traditional stone shepherd's huts known as burons, and a contrasting climate, cold in winter and cool in summer. Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac is a well-known stop on the Way of St James (Via Podiensis), featuring the so-called Pilgrims' Bridge crossing the Boralde river.
