Ste suzanne et chammes

Sainte-Suzanne and Chammes are located in the Mayenne department, in the Pays de la Loire region, within the Coëvrons area. Sainte-Suzanne is listed among Les Plus Beaux Villages de France: the medieval town, perched on a rocky spur overlooking the Erve valley, retains its fortified castle, ramparts and cobbled lanes. The site is notably known for having withstood William the Conqueror's siege in the late 11th century, a significant episode in its history. Chammes, a neighbouring rural commune, offers a more pastoral setting, typical of the Mayenne bocage countryside, with its farms and country lanes.
