Rives du loir en anjou

Rives-du-Loir-en-Anjou is a municipality in the Maine-et-Loire department, in the Pays de la Loire region, formed in 2016 through the merger of several villages, including Durtal and Seiches-sur-le-Loir. Crossed by the River Loir, it offers a typically rural Anjou setting of meadows, farmland and riverside paths well suited to walking and fishing. The village of Durtal retains a historic château overlooking the valley, reflecting the tuffeau stone architecture characteristic of the region. Nearby, the Chambiers forest provides a wooded area popular for hiking and cycling, including along the Loir à vélo route that follows the river. The area maintains a modest agricultural and wine-growing presence, linked to the neighbouring Anjou vineyards. Located around twenty kilometres from Angers, the town makes it easy to explore the wider Loire Valley châteaux and surrounding towns while enjoying a peaceful, green environment. Anjou's mild oceanic climate supports outdoor activities for much of the year, making this a quiet base from which to discover the Loir valley.
