Brissac loire aubance

Brissac-Loire-Aubance is a commune in Maine-et-Loire, in the Anjou region, formed by the merger of several villages around Brissac-Quincé. It is best known for its château, said to be the tallest in France with its seven storeys, blending medieval architecture with Renaissance façades. The estate, set within wooded grounds, is open to visitors and also offers wine tastings, as the property runs its own vineyard. The commune lies at the heart of the Coteaux-de-l'Aubance appellation, known for its sweet white wines, and close to the wider Anjou wine region, with numerous estates open for visits and tastings. The local landscape, shaped by hillsides, the Aubance valley and small Loire tributaries, is well suited to walking and cycling, including routes linking the surrounding villages. Its location around fifteen kilometres south of Angers makes it a convenient base for exploring the Loire Valley, its châteaux and listed heritage sites. The region's temperate oceanic climate allows for pleasant stays from spring through to autumn, with mild summers and a quiet rural setting.
