Val du layon

Val du Layon is a commune in the Maine-et-Loire department, set within the Anjou wine region along the Layon river, which lends its name to the Coteaux du Layon appellation, known for its sweet white wines. The landscape features gentle hillsides, terraced vineyards and small stone hamlets typical of this part of Anjou. The area is popular for its wine cellars and estates open for tastings, as well as for walking and cycling routes along the Layon valley, winding between honey-coloured villages and scenic vineyard views.
